Laser Marquetry
Marquetry is at the core of the Kucuk & Co. Backgammon Board Series. Bold designs and colours have thusfar been achieved with a careful process of laser cutting beautifully stained wood veneer. Further iterations may use hand dyed wood & natural woods, as the process and concept develops.
Backgammon Boards are precious artefacts. Their construction may be simple, it may be complex. But we believe there is beauty in complexity. The videos below give a window into our artisanal process.
Process
A passion for design and artisanal manufacture processes allows Serin to produce beautiful board frames using a variety of processes. The boards are made from timber grown on the streets of London & the surrounding area, and rescued by our friends at Fallen and Felled.
